I’m happy to report that the snowstorm that hit today isn’t keeping us from getting out and running. I took this picture just before noon when we were on our way back from the run at the park.

I’m still figuring out what the easiest way to post here is. I have so many options – right now this is being posted from Flickr, but I can also post from an app on my phone (which I already lost a nicely written post from today, grrr) or by email, and of course there’s also the website. I’m such a perfectionist by heart that I nearly didn’t post this because I was so disappointed that the carefully crafted words I had written completely disappeared. Sometimes you just have to push through even if it doesn’t end up the way you planned.

I am just proud of myself for making time to blog between business activities, snow shoveling and other housework. And of course I am encouraged by the running that happened today, in spite of the snow. I’m not going to let the weather stop me from getting out and exercising!

I’m a twenty-year-old girl (or woman, or young woman… let’s just say female). I live in Wisconsin. I go to college here, in the same town that I’ve lived in since 1996. Art is my major, specifically ceramics. My other passions include dyeing, combing, carding, and spinning all sorts of fiber, and finding things at a really good price… by thrift shopping, garage sales, Goodwill, and the great mother-of-all, EBAY.

I’m kind of a freak; I know it, I admit it, and I don’t really care all that much. I listen to both Wisconsin Public Radio and NPR, I don’t like top 40 music (with some key exceptions), and my favorite thing to listen to is old time radio shows. I have never done drugs, I don’t smoke, I have never really been out partying, and I spend all of my free time on my crafts.

I love to read, especially interesting non-fiction. I love old movies, especially Orson Welles’ work and anything with Marlon Brando. My main celebrity crushes are already dead….

I have no problem with spending time by myself, or with my family. I still live at home with my parents, and I plan to stay there for a while longer. We’re a close family, and we also have a lot of pets that I would miss.

By now, if you’re under the age of 29, you’re saying, “what a pathetic loser.”

If you’re over the age of 45, you’re saying, “what a sweet girl, to stay home with her family.”

Both are true. But my family is also sweet for putting up with such a pathetic loser.
